Frequently Asked Questions

Mattress Questions

Will my Comfort Base work with an innerspring mattress, hybrid mattress, air mattress or foam mattress?

Yes. Glideaway Comfort Bases are compatible with most innerspring, hybrid, foam, and air mattresses of any brand.

If you prefer an innerspring mattress, it is important to note that mattresses with a border wire are not compatible with Comfort Bases. If possible, we suggest purchasing your mattress and the Comfort Base at the same time to create a personalized sleep system that works well together.

Purchase Questions

How much does a Comfort base cost and where can I find one?

We do not sell directly to the public, only to retailers. The individual retailers determine the price of the Comfort Bases. To get an idea of pricing, you can visit a store or check retailer's websites. Click here to find a store.

Do I need to purchase special sheets to go on my mattress with the Comfort Base?

No, Comfort Bases do not conflict with standard size bed sheets.

Can I still use my headboard, foot board and side rails with the Comfort Base?

In many cases, yes you can. The bases are made to fit within industry-standard size beds, similar to a standard box spring/foundation and steel bed frame. The base easily attaches to most standard-size headboards and a headboard bracket kit is available for all models of Comfort Bases. Different leg heights are available as well so you can adjust the height of your base.

Will I still need a bed frame?

No. A Comfort Base takes the place of your steel bed frame.

Will I still need a box spring or foundation?

No. A Comfort Base takes the place of your box spring or foundaton. You place your mattress directly on top of the base.

Do Comfort Bases come with a mattress?

No. The base is an independent part of the bed that replaces the box spring. The adjustable-friendly mattress of your choice rests on top of the base.

Feature Questions

What is does the feature “Wall Hugging” mean?

If a Comfort Base has the Wall Hugging feature it does not move away from the wall or nightstand as the head inclines. Instead, it moves up along the wall, keeping the nightstand within reach.

What is the Sleep Enhancement feature?

Sleep Enhancement utilizes Total Body Vibration created by a single vibe motor placed on the underside of the base, in the mid-back area. The vibrations ease you to sleep and provide you with health benefits like increasing circulation, alleviate muscle fatigue, and reducing stress hormones. It also created a white noise effect, blocking out noises that may interrupt your sleep.

What is the Zero-Gravity position?

The zero-gravity position duplicates the position astronauts take during liftoff. The position is meant to ease the stress on their bodies as they escape Earth’s gravity. The position raises the feet to the same level as the heart. People who have back pain or who would like to increase their circulation often find this position extremely relaxing. It creates a sensation of weightlessness.

What are the benefits of raising the foot of the base?

By elevating your foot you can reduce stress on your heart, increase circulation, and ease back pain.

What are the benefits of elevating the head of the base?

By elevating your head you can reduce stress on your heart, snoring, sleep apnea, heartburn, acid reflux; alleviate a toothache, neck and shoulder tension, headaches, and congestion; improve digestion and breathing, delivering more oxygen to your blood.
